Description
The Pelican Nebula (IC 5070) is a vibrant emission nebula in the Cygnus constellation, next to the North America Nebula and close to Deneb. Its shape resembles a pelican, but ongoing star formation and powerful young stars are constantly changing its appearance. The nebula is a dynamic region with dense gas filaments and energetic jets, making it a fascinating target for astronomers. Over millions of years, it will evolve into something completely different.
